Designing GaAs Based Semi-Elliptical Nano Plasmonic Coupler with Analytical Assessment

Abstract
A novel GaAs based nano-plasmonic coupler has been presented in this manuscript which is semi-elliptical in shape. Coupling efficiency of 63% has been attained from numerical simulation at 1550 nm wavelength which is the preferred wavelength for optical communication. The performance parameters of the coupler has been analyzed numerically using CST MWS which deploys finite integral technique (FIT). The change in coupling efficiency due to the variation of the plasmonic waveguide width, the dielectric waveguide width, the length of semi-minor axis and the height of the structure has been evaluated to find the most efficient structure. Coupling efficiency, reflectance and absorbance have been computed using optimum dimensions. The suggested coupling structure performs acceptably at a comprehensive range of frequencies.
