Information support of enterprises: problems, challenges, prospects

Abstract
The main purpose of this article was to study the peculiarities of information support of enterprises and the definition of its main problems. The basis of the study of the features of information support of enterprises is a qualitative combination of methods of system analysis. In particular, the study of the existing base of scientific literature used methods of analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, concretization, methods of generalization, and analogy. The Harington scale method was used to assess the level of information provision of the enterprise. As a result of the research, it was found that in modern conditions the importance of information resources is steadily increasing, effective management of any socioeconomic system is impossible without proper information support of the management personnel. To achieve the objectives of the study, the main problems of information support of enterprises were identified. Based on the analysis of literary sources, the main types of analysis of information support were identified. The main approaches to the assessment of information support were established. The modeling scheme of non-metric attributes' measurers was generalized. Based on the individual components of information support indicators for the functioning and development of the enterprise, the methodology for calculating the summarizing indicator for assessing the level of information support was proposed. It is proposed to interpret the obtained indicator of the information level with the help of the Harrington scale. The essence, importance, and main characteristics of each level of information support from very low to very high were defined. The results of the study are of great practical importance because they allow to evaluate the level of information support of the enterprise quantitatively and to develop recommendations aimed at its improvement.
