Abstract

The DC-DC basic topologies are widely used in medium and high-voltage power systems like photovoltaic applications, renewable energies, electric vehicles, etc. Different modern control strategies have been developed, like the predictive control method that is a simple and intuitive technique, easy to implement and can be applied to a great variety of systems. In this paper the principle of operation and a detailed procedure of a predictive current controller design applied to a Buck, Boost and Buck-Boost converter are presented, being the basis to apply it to more complex systems. Simulations results that validate the proposed strategy are presented.
