Abstract

This paper presents a dual-orthogonal, linear polarized antenna for 5G communication in 28 GHz band. The antenna is able to support both horizontal and vertical polarization. The proposed antenna consists of a stacked patch antenna and a wideband dipole antenna. The design is verified by a prototype representing that the measured impedance bandwidth for stacked patch and dipole is 3.5 GHz (24.6-28.1 GHz) and 11.3 GHz (23.1-34.4 GHz), respectively. In the design, high isolation between the horizontal and vertical polarization is placed, wherein it is lower than −20 dB (22.5-30.1 GHz). The measured peak gain by V-polarization and H-polarization are 5.89 dBi and 6.38 dBi respectively.
