Abstract

The present paper pursues a fairly usual tradition basically devoted to reviews describing advances in some light scattering theories in which the illuminating beam is described using vector wave function expansions, with expansion coefficients known as beam shape coefficients. After the most recent review dealing with the period 2014-2018, the present review deals with the fiducial period 2019-2023. Relying on about 700 references, it discusses as well other light scattering approaches and applications to optical particle characterization techniques, therefore providing an overview of light scattering approaches and applications during half a decade.
