Abstract

Four new anti-malarial sesquiterpenoid trimers including two rearranged skeletons were isolated from <italic>Chloranthus spicatus</italic>. The structurally different but biogenetically related compounds <bold>1</bold>, <bold>2</bold> and <bold>5</bold> rationalized the biradical pathway, and <italic>vice versa</italic>.
