Stability of Spherical Cavity in Hoek–Brown Rock Mass
Suraparb Keawsawasvong, Jim Shiau
Abstract
Highlights A state of art approach to evaluate the stability of Hoek–Brown rock mass with a spherical cavity. Rigorous upper bound and lower bound solutions of stability factors are solved using advanced finite element limit analysis. Comprehensive design charts, tables and equations are presented for stability evaluation.
