Visible‐Light‐Induced Arylcarboxylation of Enamides with CO<sub>2</sub> and Aryl Iodides to Synthesize α‐Amino Acids

Abstract
Abstract Utilization of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) via visible‐light photocatalysis is an attractive but challenging research area. Herein, we report a novel strategy of arylcarboxylation of enamides with CO 2 and aryl iodides to generate a range of α,α‐disubstituted α‐amino acids via visible‐light photoredox catalysis under mild conditions. This three‐component coupling reaction rapidly delivers valuable α‐amino acids from readily available enamides and aryl iodides, providing a distinct tool for synthetic chemists.
