Abstract
To the Editor, Buried bumper syndrome (BBS) is a rare complication of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG), in which the internal fixation device migrates alongside the tract of the stoma outside the stomach, with an incidence of approximately 1% [1]. Although rare, it can be associated with severe complications including gastrointestinal bleeding, perforation or abscess and, considering the increasing number of patients requiring PEG for enteral nutrition, it may become a significant clinical problem [2].
