Abstract
The big impact that chirality presents in different scientific disciplines is illustrated by the high number of analytical methodologies developed to achieve the separation and determination of the enantiomers of chiral compounds. Capillary Electromigration (CE) techniques have demonstrated to be very powerful tools for chiral separations due to their inherent characteristics such as high separation efficiency and resolution, and the possibility of discriminating enantiomers by adding a chiral selector to the separation medium as in Electrokinetic Chromatography . This review describes the most relevant contributions of CE techniques to chiral analysis from 2020 to the present. The main advances reported in the last years are presented together with the most representative applications of chiral CE techniques to the analysis of pharmaceutical/cosmetic formulations, and biological, food, or agrochemical/environmental samples. The characteristics of the developed methodologies are grouped in tables and critically discussed together with the future trends expected in this topic.
