Abstract
This chapter chronicles how the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks and the 2006 spinach outbreak paved the way for the most significant change in US food policy in over 100 years. Explored are changes and proposed changes in federal policies, the buildup to the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, and the victories that came as a result of the hard work of the families of victims.
