Abstract

Abstract In this study, the antioxidant activity of Alcea kurdica (Schltdl.) Alef. was investigated to reduce the effects of oxidant compounds. In addition, DNA protecting activity, antiproliferative activity, antibacterial, antifungal activities, phenolic contents, and chemical compositions of plant extracts were determined. Plant samples were collected from Zakho (Iraq). In addition, methanol (MeOH) and dichloromethane (DCM) extracts of the root parts of the plant were obtained. As a result of our studies, it was determined that A. kurdica has important biological activities. In addition, it was determined that Gallic acid, Syringic acid, Chlorogenic acid, and Quercetin was within the plant. In addition, 12 compounds were determined as a result of GC-MS analysis. As a result, it has been determined that it can be used to reduce the effect of oxidative stress from plant samples. In addition, it is also thought to be an important pharmacological natural agent.
