The SU(∞)-Toda Field Equation and Special Four-Dimensional Metrics

Abstract
We show how the SU(∞)-Toda Field Equation, which underlies four-dimensional scalar-flat Kâhler and hyper-Kähler metrics which possess a symmetry, also underlies four-dimensional anti-self-dual Einstein metrics with symmetry.
