Greatly enhancing birefringence of fluorosilicates through the synergetic effect of functional units

Abstract
Two novel fluorosilicates were obtained. (C 2 H 7 N 4 O) 2 SiF 6 has the largest band gap among organic–inorganic hybrid fluorosilicates, and (C 2 H 4 N 4 ) 4 ZnSiF 6 ·H 2 O has the largest birefringence among organic–inorganic hybrid fluorosilicates.
