Abstract

A study of light Λ hypernuclei in chiral effective field theory is presented. For the first time, chiral ΛNN and ΣNN three-body forces are included consistently. The calculations are performed within the no-core shell model. Results for the separation energies of the hypernuclei _{Λ}^{3}H, _{Λ}^{4}H/_{Λ}^{4}He, _{Λ}^{5}He, and _{Λ}^{7}Li are given. It is found that the experimental values can be fairly well reproduced once hyperon-nucleon-nucleon three-body forces are taken into account.
