Abstract

A metal–organic framework mediated nickel doped ferrite composite with superior lithium storage properties was successfully synthesized. A DFT study also elucidated the reaction pathway for Cu<sub>1−x</sub>Ni<sub>x</sub>Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>.
