Simulation of open-quantum-system dynamics using the quantum Zeno effect
Sabrina Patsch, Sabrina Maniscalco, Christiane P. Koch
Abstract
This work presents a quantum simulator that allows studying the role of memory effects in the dynamics of open quantum systems. Exploiting the analogy between dissipation and quantum measurements, the dissipation strength experienced by the system and the degree of non-Markovianity can be tuned independently from each other by changing the parameters of measurement.
