Abstract
Herb refers to any part of a medicinal plant. Medicinal plants are those kinds of plants that can be used for medicinal purposes to cure and prevent humans or animals from diseases. Identifying these herbs plays a crucial role in using them as a medicine. So, the identification and classification of herbs are critical. Only an expert or a person who has prior knowledge can identify it. To make use of herbs by people at large, the problem of identification must be solved, and methods should be proposed that are easy to use and cost-effective. Any plants can be identified by their leaves’ images. In this paper, six classical ML algorithms have been applied on collected 25 kinds of herbal plant leaves, and a comparative analysis of the results of these six algorithms has been done. An accuracy of 82.51% is achieved by using Multi-layer Perceptron (MLP) classifier.
