Effects of cation vacancies at tetrahedral sites in cobalt spinel oxides on oxygen evolution catalysis

Abstract
The dissolution of substituted Zn 2+ ions in Co–Al spinel oxides leads to cation vacancies at the tetrahedral sites, promoting the adsorption process of OH − ions for charge compensation and enhancing the activity for oxygen evolution catalysis.
