Abstract

Polypharmacy as consequence of multimorbidity remains to be a challenging problem in older adults [ 1 , 2 ] and effective preventive measures need to be implemented into clinical practice [ 3 , 4 , 5 ]. The appropriateness of the necessary drugs should be reviewed by the critical evaluation of pharmacotherapy in older individuals on a regular base (medication review) [ 6 ]. The Fit for the Aged (FORTA) List addresses both over- and undertreatment leading to a comprehensive dealing with patients’ medical needs [ 6 ].
