Abstract

This research paper aims to compare and analyze different Power Factor Correction (PFC) converter topologies utilized in Brushless DC (BLDC) motor drives. PFC converters play a vital role in enhancing the efficiency and power quality of motor drives by improving power factor and reducing harmonics. This study investigates several PFC converter topologies, including buck-boost, cuk, and sepic converter, to determine their performance characteristics in terms of power factor, harmonic distortion, efficiency, and control complexity. The analysis is based on simulation results providing valuable insights into the selection of PFC converter topologies for BLDC motor drives.
