Abstract

Abstract Photonic power converters for optical wireless power transmission have challenged improving photoelectric conversion efficiency under high-power laser irradiation. We developed the efficiency under high-power irradiation by making the laser intensity distribution uniform and narrowing the distance L ( μ m) between the comb-shaped electrodes on the converter cell surface. As a result, the GaInP converter cell with L = 234 μ m showed the highest conversion efficiency of 46.7% under uniform 638 nm laser irradiation of 1.5 W cm −2 . The exceeding 45.5% efficiencies under 1.0–6.2 W cm −2 uniform 635 nm laser irradiation were also obtained in the GaInP converter cell with L = 106 μ m.
