Abstract
Ground penetrating radar is more and more widely used in pavement maintenance detection due to its non-destructive, fast, safe and efficient advantages. In this paper, the Swedish CO4080 ground penetrating radar is used to conduct on-site measurement on the major and medium repair project of the trunk highway in Guizhou Province. First, combined with digital image processing technology, a series of pre-processing is performed on the radar image, including removal of DC offset, static correction, gain and so on. Then, combined with the outdoor detection and coring, the radar map analysis was carried out on the common distress of the road internal structure (void, loose, crack, high water content, etc.), and the characteristics of ground penetrating radar images of several typical diseases were summarized. Finally, the PCI and PSSI of the detected road section distress were statistically analysed and calculated, and the correlation analysis was carried out with the results of the ground penetrating radar, and the targeted maintenance measures were proposed.
