Abstract
Selenium-containing heterocycles play a pivotal role to construct a variety of pharmaceutically important molecules. They are also extensively used in the glass industry as well as to make different types of solar cells and photocells. Moreover, their extensive applications in multiple organic reactions due to their remarkable reactivity make them an interesting subject of research for scientists. Therefore, a variety of synthetic protocols for selenium-based molecules have been described mainly from 2010 to 2021 which have been compiled in this review.
