Abstract

This article presents a method for model order reduction (MOR) of Cuk converter in discrete domain. The MOR is obtained using time moments (TMs) and Markov parameters (MPs) matching. For this purpose, the expressions of TMs and MPs are derived in discrete domain. The state space averaging (SSA) method is exploited to compute transfer function of converter. Test system is included to illustrate the methodology of MOR. In the test case, the fourth-order system is reduced to first-order, second -order, and third -order models. To signify the efficacy of the method, step and impulse response are plotted for system and models. For a equitable comparative study, time domain specifications for lower limit (LL) and upper limit (UL) are presented. The results presented prove the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed method.
