Thermal energy communities: what, why and how to formulate complex collective action for the thermal energy transition in Europe
Javanshir Fouladvand
Abstract
Abstract Thermal energy communities are community-based initiatives for heating and cooling purposes, where thermal energy is generated and consumed collectively based on renewable thermal energy sources for all participants. This article answers why and how to establish such collective energy systems in Europe, considering their unique characteristics and energy security requirements.
