Abstract
<italic>Behavioral Neuroscience</italic> presents the most current research in this field. The first chapter introduces this tenth edition of this book and gives an overview of the subject. Part 1 looks at the biological foundations of behavioral neuroscience. It contains chapters on functional neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, the chemistry of behavior, and hormones. The second part turns to the evolution and development of the nervous system. The third part is about perception and action and includes chapters which look at sensory processing, touch, pain, hearing, balance, taste, smell, vision, motor control, and plasticity. The next part is about regulation and behavior and touches on sex, homeostasis, and biological rhythms. Part 5 looks at emotions and mental disorders. The final part is about cognitive neuroscience and here chapters examine learning, memory, attention, higher cognition, language, and lateralization.
