Abstract

Novel mononuclear Eu(<sc>iii</sc>) and Tb(<sc>iii</sc>) complexes based on phosphine oxides bearing pyridine, pyrimidine or pyrazine moieties show bright photo- and triboluminescence under ambient conditions.
