Abstract

Abstract We present the first report of Fusarium euwallaceae and its ambrosia beetle vector Euwallacea fornicatus in deciduous fruit tree orchards in South Africa. Fusarium euwallaceae , is shown to be pathogenic to pear ( Pyrus communis ) and the beetle can establish viable colonies in this host.
