Abstract

Remote patient monitoring is an emerging healthcare technology that uses IoT devices and sensors to monitor patients' health statuses remotely. The healthcare industry holds immense potential for revolutionizing itself through advancements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness in healthcare delivery. These innovations have the power to improve patient outcomes significantly. This conversation discussed the different devices and sensors used in remote patient monitoring, the hardware and software components required for building a remote patient monitoring system, the future developments in IoT technology for remote patient monitoring, and an example programme for remote patient monitoring using an Arduino board. The use of IoT technology in remote patient monitoring has the potential to transform the healthcare industry by providing better healthcare services to patients and healthcare professionals.
