Abstract

Hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) is an important green oxidant and chemical raw material, which is widely used in environmental remediation, disinfection, organic synthesis and energy storage. Piezocatalytic H 2 O 2 production, utilizing water and oxygen as raw materials along with mechanical energy as the power source, represents a green and sustainable process. In the past decade, a series of studies on piezoelectric catalytic production of H 2 O 2 have been developed with remarkable results. In this review, we summarize the research progress of piezoelectric catalytic preparation of H 2 O 2 . Following a concise overview highlighting the advantages of piezoelectric catalytic preparation of H 2 O 2, the fundamental mechanisms of preparing H 2 O 2 including piezoelectric system, piezoelectric photocatalytic system and piezo-Fenton system are discussed, and the piezoelectric catalytic materials currently under research are introduced. Finally, a brief summary of the research in the field of piezoelectric catalytic production of H 2 O 2 and prospects for future work are given.
