Abstract

In this article, we consider an RIS-assisted uplink Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) in which the distributed sensors transmit their gathered data to a Fusion Center (FC) during their specific time slot. The adaptive TDMA scheme is taken into account for the uplink transmission of the sensors. The sum achievable throughput of the sensors at the presence of the RIS is maximized with some constraints on the power consumption, time interval association, and a minimum achievable rate for each sensor. The modeled problem is not convex, so it is solved using the alternating minimization technique where the problem is divided into sub-problems with respect to each of the variables by fixing the others. The power allocation sub-problem has been solved through a suggested algorithm to satisfy the derived KKT conditions. The numerical results shows the meaningful outperformance of the proposed method over its counterparts.
