Abstract

The Kumaun part of Uttarakhand is rich of lakes and ponds. These water bodies are prime source of water supply to the people of this region. But presently these water bodies are severely affected by the water pollution so ultimately have become hazardous for people in this region. The present paper addresses the water hardness parameter for the Uttarakhand region. An attempt is done in this research work to predict the hardness of water with known values of pH and the calcium concentration. The prediction models have been developed using AI (Artificial intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning) techniques in MATLAB. Their performance is also evaluated and compared.
