Abstract
The paper deals with the comparison of tensile strength of fiber reinforced concrete with different types of fibers. Detailed knowledge of mechanical properties is necessary for advanced design of fiber reinforced concrete structures such as industrial floors, foundation slabs, beams etc. The paper is focused on determination of density, compressive strength, bending tensile strength and splitting tensile strength. Two different types of fibers were used, specifically straight and short fibers and fibers with double hooked ends, with dosage of 40, 75 and 110 kg/m3. Mechanical properties were compared with properties of basic plain concrete mixture (i.e. dosing of fibers 0kg/m3) to compare the effect of fibers on mechanical properties in comparison with plain concrete.
