Exact Formulas for Fault Aware Core Mapping on NoC Reliability

Abstract

One of the fundamentals of understanding a fault aware core mapping for NoC reliability needs the knowledge of the measure of failure probability and functional metrics. Below stated Functional metrics are Node Average Distance (NAD), Placing Unmapped Vertices Region (PVR) and Weighted Communication Energy (WCE). The traditional method of evaluating the above mentioned functional metrics were utilizing weight, unmapped cores and the distance. Apparently, identifying the exact value isn't always simple to exact functional metrics, especially the busy cores along with the failed or damaged cores were mapped at the center of available free cores. In this research paper, the exact functional metrics of core mapping for fault aware in Network on Chip and failure probability were derived.
