Abstract

The development of sustainable water resources is an issue of great interest globally. To meet the demand for freshwater, Humidification-Dehumidification (HDH) technology has been successfully used. The effectiveness of this strategy has been improved by the implementation of numerous research investigations. To get purified water, the HDH system involves getting vapor content from the saline into a carrier air stream. HDH cycle is discussed in various forms in this paper, along with a thorough overview of important recent technological developments. Utilizing bubbles in evaporators and condensers of HDH, fogging techniques (ultrasonic and nozzles), and various packing materials are also discussed. A detailed comparison of the HDH performance factors such as the productivity, gained output ratio, and costs has been conducted.
