De novela ejemplar a los tablados alemanes. Axiomas convergentes en el Teodoro de Pérez de Montalbán y el Cardenio de Andreas Gryphius
Rodrigo Carmen-Cerdán
Abstract
This article is based on the intense intercultural relations, influence and literary transfer developed between Spanish Golden Age literature and German literature in the 17th century. For this purpose, it examines the drama Cardenio und Celinde (1657) by Andreas Gryphius, based on Juan Pérez de Montalbán’s exemplary novel La fuerza del desengaño. The aim is to analyse the apparently different endings presented in both texts, despite their genetic relationship, and to propose that they respond to the same axiom, even if their external realisation may appear contradictory.
