Abstract
This paper is not meant as a review of miniemulsion polymerization, but as a personal commentary from one who has seen its development at close range, on the potential of this technology for further commercialization. The paper discusses its advantages and disadvantages (over conventional emulsion polymerization), misconceptions about the technology, and specific areas in which its implementation might be highly beneficial.
