Abstract
User's acceptance of wireless EV chargers is expanded worldwide. In Thailand, previous static wireless power transfers (WPT) were not over 1.0 kW. This study is to design a higher power EV charger's WPT. In the experiment, the EE55 ferrite core with a 5 mm air gap inductive coil design of WPT was analyzed, constructed, and tested using 0 - 300 V 20 kHz squared wave inverter, performed 1.50 kW, and 88% efficiency to a resistive load. Finally, the block UU shape ferrite IPT with a 160 mm air gap was constructed and tested in the same conditions. The results found that the performance of the IPT was 124 kW and 75% efficiency that lower the design rated.
