Abstract

With rise in urbanization there has been an increase in traffic density, resulting in various traffic related issues like traffic congestion and increased air pollution. Hence traffic issues are one of the biggest issues faced by the people in daily life and needs to be handled by the government and administration in an effective, practical and smart way. In smart times when internet has solution for most of the human problems, then why not use IoT to solve road traffic problems. The Intelligent Traffic Light system based on IoT and traffic density is a modern approach towards existing traffic system which works on real time data analysis using ultrasonic sensor and gas sensor. The technology is intended to handle traffic congestion by automatically modifying traffic signal timings at each interaction based on traffic density. Its goal is to increase road safety, minimize traffic jams, and improve overall traffic flow. A smart method for the emerging smart world. The unique part of the proposed system is the addition of gas sensor which will measure the level of air pollutants and accordingly with ultrasonic sensor which measures density of traffic to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality.
