Abstract

Selenium-mediated on water oxidation of arylamines with H2O2 is reported. Nitroarenes or azoxyarenes are selectively achieved by switching the selenium catalyst. Mechanistic analysis and 77Se NMR studies highlighted the key role of Se(iv) species.
