Abstract

The mechanism of [2 + 2] cycloadditions activated by visible light and catalyzed by bis-cyclometalated Rh(<sc>iii</sc>) and Ir(<sc>iii</sc>) photocatalysts was investigated, combining density functional theory calculations and spectroscopic techniques.
