Abstract
NMR relaxation measurements are used to evaluate the strength of solvent-surface interactions in the polystyrene-supported N-heterocyclic carbene-promoted oxidation of aldehydes. The results reveal that solvents with high surface affinity lead to a decrease in catalyst activity.
