Abstract

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are large networks made of a numerous number of sensor nodes with sensing, computation, and wireless communications capabilities. Due to the achievement in low-power digital circuit and wireless communication, many applications of the WSN are developed and already been used in habitat monitoring, military object and object tracking. The energy of nodes is the most important consideration among them because the lifetime of Wireless Sensor Networks is limited by the energy of the nodes. Many energy aware routing protocols have been proposed in the literature. In this paper, we introduce recent work on routing protocols for WSNs and also a comparative analysis of these has been made considering various network parameters.
