Abstract
Chapter 28 focuses on a remote health monitoring system using Internet of Things (IoT). The IoT has a diverse set of applications where the applications get the data within healthcare such as diagnosis reports and type of diseases. The IoT can benefit patients, physicians and hospitals. The IoT applications are implied using wearable types of devices which monitor in the wired and wireless medium. Remote monitoring allows physicians to adjust their medication and treatment of a patient by regularly checking the status of the patient’s health. These smart health monitoring devices can determine the health conditions according to the state of health conditions such as body temperature, ECG, EEG (electroencephalogram) and blood pressure. The IoT can connect devices using the internet to attain dynamic access to information and connect people, and it responds to the medical ecosystem structure. Several clinical procedures are performed in an eco-friendly manner using the IoT.
