Abstract

The issue of evaluating the quality of the iris image provided for authentication is addressed in this article. Like other biometric systems, the initial processing of a given image is one of the most important issues in identifying an individual based on a color-coded image of the eye, because the speed and accuracy of the system depends on image quality. The study analyzes various approaches aimed at solving the problem for non-reference assessment of the image quality of the iris, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages.A simple method of measuring for the image quality of the iris which is presented for identification has been proposed, and its effectiveness has been experimentally confirmed.
