Recent advances in energy-efficient chlorine production <i>via</i> HCl electrolysis

Abstract
Chemical industries employing Cl 2 as a prime reactant are producing large amount of HCl as a byproduct. Electrochemical conversion of it back to Cl 2 can be an energy efficient strategy for reducing the load of energy intensive chlor-alkali industries.
