Abstract

Chronic pain (CD) can be characterized by the persistence of the complaint for more than three months of the usual time for healing of the lesion, or it is still associated with chronic processes. Therefore, the present experience report aims to describe the experience lived in the management of chronic pain at the USF Alto do Céu Integrado, in the city of João Pessoa, during the Multiprofessional Residency in Family and Community Health, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. -19, from April 2020 to December 2021, as a way to encourage discussion to improve comprehensive care for the individual. Regarding multidisciplinary consultations, they were often not advised, whether for technical reasons or due to the high demand for respiratory symptoms within the unit and the risk of contamination. And there was an increase in cases of pain related to the musculoskeletal system, with a growing search for physiotherapy care. However, due to the structural precariousness of the unit, the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases and health restrictions, constant referrals to outpatient services were necessary. According to the reports, auriculotherapy proved to be effective in promoting the quality of life of users, not only with improvements in complaints associated with chronic pain, but also its relief or cessation. In addition, it served as a palliative until the regulatory service found a vacancy in outpatient care. However, there was still a resistant belief in biomedical models as a solution for pain management, which increased according to greater social vulnerability and lack of knowledge. Finally, to improve the understanding of the origin and permanence of pain in the user, it was necessary to improve the comprehensiveness of care, especially with regard to qualified listening, with multidisciplinary care being the most appropriate way for this to happen.
