Abstract

The article shows the possibilities of solid-state (СP MAS) 13С NMR spectroscopy for determination of lignin content in a wide range of lignocellulosic materials: wood of various tree species and plant waste. The analysis is based on the use of the dependences of the integral intensity of 13C NMR signals due to aromatic or methoxy carbon atoms of lignin on its percentage in mixtures with cellulose. The lignin content obtained by 13С NMR spectroscopy is in good agreement with the published data and the results obtained using acid hydrolysis of the corresponding samples of lignocellulosic biomaterials.
