Abstract
This study presented a method employing visible/near-infrared (VIS/NIR) full-transmission spectroscopy for the accurate, non-destructive determination of total soluble solid content (SSC) in pomelos. Parameters for acquiring spectroscopic signals from pomelos were optimized and a non-destructive testing model for SSC was developed. The variability of SSC across different parts of the fruit was investigated to identify the optimal calibration position. Additionally, the accuracy of static and dynamic spectral acquisition parameters was compared, and an optimization plan was proposed. Experimental results demonstrated that the proposed method facilitated rapid and precise SSC testing in pomelo fruit, which could advance the pomelo industry and serve as a reference for non-destructive internal quality testing of other large-sized fruit.
